Apparently, still under the control of the lazies...

otherwise, I'd get my frozen rear end inside Sturm where it's a temperature controlled 70 degrees.

But noooo, I'm playing the tough girl. Sitting outside, writing this blog willing the blue sky to actually beam down some warmth. Instead, there are some absolutely gorgeous, puffy white clouds blocking the sun and a brisk wind that sends chills to any flesh that isn't covered (like my fingers).

Tomorrow, we're expecting snow. And Friday. And, even though my fingers are screaming for mercy, all I can say is bring it on because a week from tomorrow, Robby is going to be here and we're going to go skiing for two days and I want there to be plenty of snow.

So, bring on the snow. Come next week, it'll all be worth it.

Lay-zee's - I Haz 'em

Happy Sunday morning to you all.

I am being extremely lazy at the moment - in fact, I'm typing this on my phone, from my bed, and laying down. I could hardly get any lazier, dontcha think?

It's not that I have nothing to do - there's the homework for Spanish and reading for marketing but I just feel like laying here a bit longer.

It's been a lovely 4 day weekend - I scrapbooked on Thurs., was a little under the weather Fri., and went out with some gals (& 1 guy) yesterday for lunch and a walk around the mall. Good thing too because I was getting a real case of cabin fever!

Today my plan is to be lazy for at least another hour, then get up and get ready for church (it's @ 2pm today). Somewhere, at some point, I'll do my homework.

Ahhh, ain't laziness grand?

'Twas a Cold and Blustery Day...

So I got a phone call at 6am. It was dark and all I heard was this buzzing and I grabbed my phone and mumbled, " 'Lo?"

In my ear was the DU automated recording telling me that due to expected snowfall today, school was canceled. Super I thought, thanked the machine and hung up. Then I proceeded to toss and turn and I just had, had, had to get up and see this snow.

So I did. And there was nothing - on the ground or falling from the sky.

Still, I was awake. At 6am. So I got up, made breakfast, dabbled with nothing and eventually, fell back asleep. I woke up again at 9am and - WOOHOO - snow was falling! And it continued to fall.

At one point, it was so insane, I just had to go outside and take a video. I had never seen anything like it before. Then I turned on the news and -wowza - we're under a blizzard warning.

Absolutely insane.

And that's my news for today. We're on blizzard watch (I think we can stop watching - it's definitely here), school was canceled, and I spent the day in my PJ's scrapbooking and watching really cool stuff like this...

It's 7pm...

...and I am exhausted.

Once 8pm rolls around, I am hitting the sack.

The news is reporting a major snow dump tonight - 8 to 15 inches! In preparation, I am making sure to close up my windows and I've got an extra blanket on standby.

I have absolutely no idea what effect (if any) there is going to be on school tomorrow. Tomorrow's my "long" day - from 10a - 6p. What's really stinky is that my 1st class is nearly a mile from my 2nd and walking all that way in 8" of snow is not my idea of fun.

Snow, fun. School + snow = no fun.

My View Right Now...

I'm up in the mountains at a friends "cabin" (this place is huge) for 3 days of skiing and fun. Just thought I'd make y'all a little jealous.

A Long Overdue Post

So yeah, I've been busy. I just wrapped up finals for our Winter Quarter and so far, I know two of my grades - Spanish (A) and Innovations in Mass Communications (A). I'm still waiting to hear back on Intro to Interactive Media (I think I'll get an A) and my wildcard class, Foundations in Sociology. I very much so enjoyed this class but the first test we took I got a 76% on. My second I got an 89% (so, so close!) and the third I do not know yet. I also turned in an extra credit assignment that is worth 7% so if I get at least a mid-B on the 3rd test and at least partial credit for the extra credit, I'll pull in at least a B and I'm really hoping for that A. I did a lot of work on the extra credit assignment and I hope that it shines through.

But enough about all that. I have NEWS! I am going to Austria. I decided a week before the applications were due that I wanted to do this and so I ran around like crazy last week to get everything in order. Of course, as soon as I did, everything started falling apart, which meant I was picking up all the pieces. Tomorrow, one of those pieces is ::::hopefully:::: going to fall in place and I can stop stressing but we'll see. I have every hope.

I've also taken up skiing in the time since I've been gone. One of my friends, Phil, was so very nice and offered to teach me. So up we went and after a bit of a rocky start (too much sun + too many clothes = Katrina almost passing out), I. Loved. It. See my smile?

I was ziggin'. I was zaggin'. I fell a few times but learned early on that falling in the snow was a lot less painful than falling in other places, so I was okay with that. And then I came to this hill.

This hill and I had a love hate relationship. At first, I hated it. I did not want to go down. I wanted to sit and scoot on my butt the whole way but Phil wouldn't let me. Every time I'd look down it, I wanted to puke. It's a steeeeeeeep hill. This picture is actually from the 2nd time we went, when I could actually stop and not be afraid to whip out the camera. That first time tho...let's just say that, had I been Phil, I'd of smacked me upside the head and/or pushed me down that hill. It seriously took me the better part of an hour. I'm proud to say that I whupped its butt the next time out though (multiple times).

And now, on to the boys.

I took these two pictures the day I first got back from CA (yes, that'd be in December). The boys were so happy to see me, they wouldn't let me out of their sight.

Some bubbah-love.

It's starts off catching them in a moment, where they pretend nothing is going on...

Then they're caught in a hug...

Before finally...they've given up hiding it and settle in for some real snuggling.

And to wrap things up, I had to throw in this picture of Tobey and my bear, Dumbell (don't ask. I still don't know how that name came to be).

C'mon, it's ok to say it: Awwwwwww.
